Disability symbol - Two Ticks scheme

The Trust has been awarded use of the disability symbol, also known as the Two Ticks scheme. Use of the symbol is given by Jobcentre Plus to employers who demonstrate a positive commitment both to people with a disability and to potential customers.

Any organisation using the symbol must make these five commitments:

  • To interview all applicants with a disability who meet the minimum criteria for a job vacancy and consider them on their abilities
  • To ask employees with a disability at least once a year what can be done to make sure that employees can develop and use their abilities at work
  • To make every effort when employees develop a disability to ensure that they stay in employment
  • To take action to ensure that key employees are aware of the needs of people with a disability
  • To annually review achievements towards making the workplace welcoming and accessible for people with a disability and to plan ways to improve and let all employees and customers know about this progress and future plan
