Travelling community

The travelling community is acknowledged as a significant population group in North Cumbria. In addition to those living on static sites in Carlisle and Penrith, a large transient travelling population passes through Cumbria each year to attend the Horse Fair at Appleby in the Eden Valley.

Our vision

Our vision is to become the naturally preferred provider of secondary care for all patients living in north Cumbria. We aim to do this by:

Providing high quality, clinically and financially sustainable services
Developing innovative service models and pathways of care which meet the needs of our diverse rural and urban population
Developing our workforce to support and realise our ambitions and to be a great place to work
