Birthing Pool at penrith Birthing Centre
To celebrate Penrith Birth Centre’s eighth anniversary, maternity staff have organised a week of free activities and drop-in sessions at the Birth Centre designed to help parents-to-be make the important choice about where to have their baby.
Over the past eight years, the Birth Centre has provided care to 3938 expectant mothers and delivered 619 healthy babies. The staff at the midwifery-led unit has a philosophy which nurtures the belief that, for the majority of women, childbirth is a very natural, normal process. The 16-strong team have over 200 years combined experience of caring for and supporting families through the exciting experience of pregnancy, birth and the early days of parenthood.
Janet Crewdson, community midwife manager, says: “Penrith Birth Centre provides 24 hour care for women in labour, and complete midwifery care before, during and after birth. Our unit is a unique and wonderful place in which to have your baby.”
Throughout the week of celebrations, staff at Penrith Birth Centre will be available together with allied professionals, alternative therapists, and other agencies that support women and their families during this special time in their lives.
Whether you are pregnant, thinking about having a family or have recently become a parent, come along and understand what Penrith Birth Centre and its dedicated staff can offer you.
