Still time to nominate your NHS Heroes

Vote for your NHS Heroes

There is still time for patients, families and colleagues to nominate their ‘NHS Heroes’ as part of a new national recognition scheme designed to celebrate the extraordinary work that staff in the NHS carry out every day.

NHS Heroes is an opportunity for anyone to nominate and honour the staff members and teams who show exceptional compassion, kindness and skill above and beyond the call of everyday duty – giving healthcare at its very best.

Staff at the Cumberland Infirmary and West Cumberland Hospital who are nominated for the honour will receive an NHS Heroes certificate to mark their achievement.

The campaign is being backed by NHS Chief Executive Sir David Nicholson. He said: “NHS Heroes is a celebration of the very best in the NHS. We know that patients and their families remember, often for the rest of their lives, the little kindnesses and extra effort of the people who cared for them when they were ill.

“In turn, those people delivering front-line care are supported by an army of behind-the-scenes workers whose own dedication and commitment keeps the NHS running smoothly. So I hope that NHS staff also get involved, and nominate those people who support them at work to give world-class NHS care.”

The closing date for nominations is Friday 21 September so there is just over a week left to get involved. An online nomination form and further information can be found at
