Research

Obesity, weight loss surgery and biomarkers of colorectal cancer risk - PhD research project completed Sep 2016

- To assess if obesity and surgically-induced weight loss influence biomarkers of colorectal cancer risk

- Findings consistent with the hypothesis that surgically-induced weight loss in obese adults may lower CRC risk.

Can mitochondrial DNA mutations predict the effectiveness of chemoradiotherapy in rectal cancer?

- To determine whether mutations in the mitochondrial DNA may help to predict which patients will have a complete response to chemoradiotherapy.
