Maternity

General introduction

The Trust has two Obstetrics units, at the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle and West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven, and a birthing centre at Penrith Community Hospital.

We provide care in labour in hospital and at home for low risk women.

Community Midwives provide antenatal care in your local community throughout north Cumbria and visit new mothers post-natally at home.
