Oral surgery
General introduction
Oral Surgery services are provided by the Oral Surgery Department located at the Cumberland Infirmary. The service provides a comprehensive range of outpatient, dental chair, day case and inpatient care on both an elective and emergency basis. Outpatient care is provided on the West Cumberland Hospital site.
What we do
Conditions treated:
Facial soft tissue surgery e.g. moles, sebaceous cysts, basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas. Dentoalveolar surgery and oral soft tissue surgery under outpatient LA & Sedation or day case unit. Major head and neck malignancy surgery with primary reconstruction and microvascular free tissue transfer. All forms of facial trauma (soft tissue and bony injury). Oral osseointegrated implantology (bone anchorage of oral prosthesis/prosthetics) including facial prosthetics. Paediatric maxillo facial surgery. Photodynamic therapy service. Temperomandibular joint surgery. Aesthetic facial surgery including laser treatment, pigmented lesions.

Dentoalveolar surgery. Salivary gland surgery including parotidectomy. Head and neck oncology including neck dissection and microvascular reconstruction. Facial trauma service. TMJ surgery. Facial deformity surgery. Oral and facial implantology.
