The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) is a confidential service where patients, carers and public can be advised about the services provided by our hospitals and where they can feel at ease to express any worries and concerns about either their own, or a relative's treatment.

  • Gives support to patients, carers and relatives, representing their views and resolving local difficulties by working in partnership with hospital staff
  • Provides a system of patient and public involvement in the NHS designed to help patients and carers sort out any questions or concerns about their care
  • Seeks to improve the quality of services provided to patients by listening to the people who use services
  • Complements existing services provided to patients by listening to the people who use services

Please note that staff are not always available in the PALS offices during these times due annual leave and working commitments. If you are travelling and wish to ensure a PALS Officer is available the staff are happy to make an appointment with you. There is an answer machine available 24/7 for when the PALS Officers are out of the office or dealing with other clients. Please leave your name and telephone number and they will return your call as soon as possible.
