Outpatients at the Cumbrian Clinic

If you require specialist advice for any medical or surgical problem you can see a consultant at our private outpatient clinic.

A wide range of minor surgery can be performed on an outpatient basis, including:

  • Vasectomy
  • Removal of lipoma or simple cyst
  • Injection of varicose veins
  • Rigid sigmoidoscopy
  • Eyelid lesion
  • Botox

A convenient appointment should be made  through your GP. The Cumbrian Clinic also offers Physiotherapy on a daily basis.

Facilities

We want you to feel as welcome and relaxed as possible when you arrive at the Cumbrian Clinic for your outpatient appointment. The following facilities are available to aid your comfort:

  • Please help yourself to coffee and biscuits on arrival. Contact a member of staff if you would prefer tea or a cold drink
  • Toilet facilities are on the left as you enter the clinic
  • Daily newspapers are provided for you to read while awaiting your consultation
  • Please help yourself to any information leaflets you think may be relevant, provided in the display racks

You will be shown to one of three consulting rooms where you will be seen by your consultant. On completion, the consultant will discuss whether another appointment is necessary. If it is, please make this appointment at reception and settle your current clinic account.

Payment

You will be asked to sign a payment contract. This is a contract between you and the hospital agreeing to pay all charges, other than those covered by your health insurance, in respect of your treatment as a private patient.

If your treatment is covered by health insurance and you have obtained prior authorisation, our receptionists will deal with this for you.

If you do not have medical cover we ask that you settle your account on the day of your appointment by cheque, debit or credit card, or American Express. If you wish to settle your account by cash, this must be by prior arrangement.
